Appreciation

April 24, 2012  •  1 Comment

I've been wanting to write this blog for almost 2 weeks now, but life keeps getting away from me!  A few weeks ago I was out for a run, and thinking of ....well all of you :)  I love to watch my clients grow-them, their families, etc.  I hope that all of you come to me-and come back to me, because you love my work and want to watch me grow along with you...and I wanted to show my appreciation.  If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have the opportunity to do what it is I do.

SO...I am offering a lifetime discount to all of my clients.  Anybody that either does a (paid) session with me, or if a contest winner purchases at least the minimum purchase amount required at that time for a basic session will receive 25% off their session and 25% off regularly priced products, or 25% off collections.   This is in addition to my referral program that earns you and any friends that book discounts and freebies also :)

Again....Thank you!!

Your Photographer,

Mandy

OpLove Proud

I first heard of OpLove in the middle of my own deployment.  I had picked photography back up, with the intent to do more than just have fun a few years prior.  Another Soldier who knew that my best friend and I were interested in photography approached us with the album he had just received. He was so excited, and he outlined the program for us.  When I got home a few months later I started building my portfolio with the strict intention of turning this into a business when I came off my active duty orders. I contacted a photographer in my area that I looked up to and asked to shadow her.  She also happened to be the OpLove regional coordinator, and had the confidence in me when I applied to provide this service to my fellow Soldiers.  I know just how priceless mail is, how priceless those images are when you are downrange, so far away and disconnected from your life. The title for this blog comes from the pride I have in not only being a Soldier, and a photographer-but being an OpLove photographer.  The images we provide to these clients, are

My last OpLove session is especially near and dear to my heart.  I will forever consider 1ID to be "my (active duty) unit"  I gave them 5 years of my life, I am very proud to wear that patch.  This session is for a fellow 1ID Soldier, working in the same office I spent so much time in.  I felt this week was appropriate to highlight them, as I watch my fellow BRO Soldiers go back down range.  It feels so odd to not be preparing to pack up and head out myself.  My heart goes out to their families.  They're going to kick butt and rock out the mission like they do every day!!

This my friend, and comrade enjoying some time with her boys!

Sometimes being mom also means being the glue that holds and ties the family together.

And these boys defiantly love "mom"!

I can't wait for this family to be whole again.....and to watch them grow as I shoot their wedding!

Keep your head down girlie, and send me those "goodie" request :)

Next blog post will feature my first Senior Rep of 2013, followed by a visual aid as to why "bigger is better" in print size!

Let's get this blog started!

Though I am sure my blog should start with something about me, my business and how it all got started-that will have to wait.  We have more pressing news for the moment :)

Let me start this by saying, I am not a great writer.  When I get going my punctuation and grammar goes RIGHT with it.  I had planned to start keeping a blog when I temporarily relocated to Georgia this summer, but my website provider pushed me ahead by adding it to my options.  I'm also  going to be offering a ton of contests and giveaways over the next few weeks-this is my attempt of somewhat keeping with facebook's rules :) BUT before we get to contest and giveaways....let's start with giving back.

Starting this Friday, we will be starting "Facebook Friday".  This idea started as a way to bring in people to get into the studio briefly and inexpensively to both of us, and provide them with new facebook photos.  Then last night, I decided I wanted to make it into something more.  I wanted to do something for Abilene, the community I am trying to become a part of.  SO, what does this mean?  It means that on Fridays, from 3-530 (call ahead if you need another time window) you can walk in and donate $10 to that week or month's local and non-profit organization/charity for a 10 min photo shoot from which you will receive:
1)  2-3 (minimum) portraits uploaded to my Facebook page for you to tag yourself and use as your profile image,

2) a link to download the low-res "Facebook ready" images for use on other social media sites.  "Facebook ready" means the image has been sized too low for optimal printing, and will have a logo/watermark across them.

3) You will also receive 10% discount if you choose to purchase any additional product.

REFERRALS: For each friend that you refer to these events, you will receive a "punch card" of sorts that will earn you a $5 punch towards future session fees.  They will receive an additional discount on any product upgrades.

In ADDITION, for every additional dollar you donate I will give you that amount off a session fee for a full session.

SO for example.  You come in at 4pm on Friday, hand me $20.  We take some fun, rocking shots in studio (for now-we'll see if we adjust that when it warms up), you get a card with a link to your images when their ready and a $10 "voucher" towards a session full session down the road. ($10 donation and $10 towards session) There is no limit to how often you can come in for new photos, but there is a limit to the number of PEOPLE per session.  This is meant to be for individuals, you may be photographed together, creating a mini session with individual and group shots-for $20.

I would like to change it up every week, but we do not have enough local organizations for that-so we will play it by ear for now.  If you have suggestions for groups and organizations, please let me know!

NOW, for the boring "legal-like" stuff-but necessary for all of us!

Please be advised, all images are copyright property of Every Moment Photography.  You may not copy, print, or edit/alter in anyway.  They are protected by federal copyright law.

Before any images will be released to you, the client, a release for me to use them in advertising or display must be signed.  In addition to that, you will sign that you have been notified and are aware of my restrictions on the photos (no printing, etc).  If you are a minor, I will need your parents consent.  You can take the paperwork home with you and return it to me at your earliest conveinence.

You will have the option to receive email about specials and promotions, if you choose to.

This can be a fun way to give back-get involved and get your friends involved!! Looking forward to seeing you all!
Stop in and visit anytime at 319 N. Cedar, Abilene KS!
